In the village of Rosa Marina, among pines, oleanders and Mediterranean scrub, a small white villa becomes a summer house built more on storytelling than on square metres. Beyond the gate, a stone-slab path crosses the lawn to a garden that is the true living room of the house: an outdoor kitchen under the great pine, a shady corner beneath the olive tree, a shower enclosed by white wooden shutters.
Inside, every room has its own colour and character. The living room, under white-painted wooden beams, is a gallery of prints, watercolours and engravings collected over time, with woven-fibre lamps and a bamboo sofa. In the kitchen, a folk-patterned terracotta wallpaper wraps walls and doors, hiding the appliances. In the bedrooms, a house outline drawn in white on a sage-green wall, and a wardrobe that hides the bathroom door behind one of its panels.
